When You Feel Like Giving Up
“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
— Galatians 6:9 (KJV)
REFLECTION
There are moments when continuing feels harder than quitting. We pray, wait, hope, and sometimes wonder how much longer we can keep going. Weariness has a way of whispering, “What difference does it make?”
Paul reminds us that weariness is not evidence that God has stopped working. There is a “due season”—a harvest we may not yet be able to see. Our responsibility is not to control the season, but to remain faithful in it.
Persistent prayer does not mean we never become tired. It means we refuse to allow our weariness to have the final word. Sometimes faith is simply praying one more prayer, trusting one more day, and taking one more step with God.
PRAYER
Lord, when I grow weary, give me strength to keep going. Help me to trust Your timing when I cannot yet see the harvest. When I am tempted to give up, remind me that You are still working. Give me grace to pray one more prayer, trust You one more day, and take one more step with You. Amen
